Reviews

Beautiful for a wedding venue. It was amazing and classic. – Reviewed on 5/2024 Katie S.

We couldn't have picked a more perfect venue than the Lakewood Heritage Amphitheater.  Choosing to do a short ceremony followed by a charcuterie picnic for 100 guests just made the entire wedding more of an unique experience for us and our guests. Surprisingly the open air venue still felt very intimate and although we did get a short sprinkle, everyone was easily able to stay dry under the structure. The sun did eventually come out and the lighting coming through the enormous sail was stunning. We recall the entire space feeling romantic.

The staff was very communicative, friendly and genuinely happy to have us there.  The most memorable part and feedback we received was the send off. The Park allowed us to bring a vintage car on site. The guests then lined up on the winding trail for a farewell moment that made for amazing pictures and the memory that we describe as the cherry on top of our big day.

The Country School House....a flawless experience!

We had a wonderful wedding reception at the School House. We reserved this all out of town, and we had such a flawless experience! It was a wonderful place: we brought our own food, the tables and chairs were already set up for us, our cake baker delivered our cake easily, and we just had such a blast. We had everything cleaned up by the time we were supposed to, and the staff there was wonderful.

Officiated a wedding ceremony under the outdoor amphitheater. Beautiful location, well kept, and everything was in order before we got there. – Reviewed in 2017 James S.

We had our ceremony and reception at Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) and loved it!

We used the amphitheater for the ceremony and the school house for the reception. Julie was our main contact throughout the planning process, and she was incredibly responsive, helpful, and flexible! Julie was organized throughout the whole process and very patient with our questions. She really made working with the venue incredibly easy for us. The staff who were present on our wedding day were also helpful and respectful, although I had limited contact with them. The grounds at Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) are beautiful and well kept. There are plenty of picture opportunities at the lake, in front of the vintage buildings, by the barn and farm buildings, etc. Everything was clean and well-maintained on our wedding date, and our guests loved the venue. The amphitheater was great for the ceremony because we wanted to be outdoors and, despite the heat of the day, the shade from the amphitheater helped keep our guests cool. The school house was extremely cute, and it helped that we were able to use the indoor space as well as the side yard for outdoor space. We had dinner tables, buffet, and bar inside. The space easily fit seating for 40 guests at round tables, the buffet, bar, a 5-person band, and some room for dancing. We used the side yard for additional cocktail tables and lawn games. Since it was a blazing summer afternoon, the A/C in the school house was a welcome relief from the heat. We had a fantastic time! If we should ever need to throw another large party, I'd love to have it at the LHC again!"

The backdrop was perfect for us and our photos look amazing. I loved the flexibility of being able to bring in my own catering. Julie was amazing to work with and she made it really easy. My family is hard to please - and they loved it! Thank you, Lakewood!"

Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) Red Barn and Country School House... Pure perfection!

We could not have asked for a more perfect setting for our September 2014 wedding! Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) has become a significant part of our relationship over the years so what better place to get married. Having our wedding at Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Heritage Center) allowed us to customize our wedding and reception to fit what we envisioned. There are so many gorgeous areas to choose from throughout the Heritage Center. The Red Barn was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and the Country School House provided the perfect setting for our reception. Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) provided maps so that our guests were able to do walking tours of Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) while they were there which was a nice touch. Being able to bring in outside vendors of our choosing was a huge selling point for us and allowed us to stay well within our budget. The staff was amazing! Julie, who helped us the most throughout every stage of planning, was amazing to work with and had some great advice and helpful hints. She went above and beyond to make sure our day turned out perfect. We highly recommend Heritage Lakewood (formerly the Lakewood Heritage Center) for anyone who wants a unique, customizable, and budget friendly wedding! We cannot thank them enough for such a perfect and memorable day!
