The City of Lakewood has 13 reservable park shelters, each offering a different backdrop and set of amenities for your big day. If you're interested in an outdoor wedding with endless DIY possibilities, start with a park shelter!

Pricing & Capacity

Rental hours: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., daily

Given rates are for Lakewood residents. Please add $25 flat fee for nonresident rentals.

50% of the rental fee is due upon reserving a shelter. The final 50% is due 14 days prior to the reservation date.

CANCELLATION

  1. Cancellations received two or more weeks prior to an event will forfeit a service charge of $20.
  2. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a scheduled event.
  3. A cancellation due to inclement weather must be received by midnight of the day before the scheduled reservation.  Please call 303-987-7800 to cancel; voicemail will document the time of your call.  Please state your name, reservation date, park name and shelter number (if any).  If these provisions are met, a reservation can be rescheduled for another available date within the same calendar year, or a refund (less a $20.00 service charge) can be made.  No refunds will be made for calls received after midnight.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  1. Alcoholic beverages (other than beer) must be approved through the City and require an alcoholic beverage permit at a cost of $100.

Venue Information

In order to keep and maintain this facility for public use, each person/group must adhere to the following use policies, as well as all other conditions set forth in the Facility Rental Agreement.

PLANNING FOR YOUR RENTAL

  1. Please be aware that the following are PROHIBITED at Lakewood's parks:
    • Smoking is prohibited per Lakewood Municipal Code 9.38.030. 
    • Piñatas or similar items that when broken require extensive cleanup.
    • Glass beverage containers.
    • Pets off leash.
    • Open fires.
    • Resale of food, beverages or other products.
    • Dunk tanks, jumping castles or similar items.
    • Portable toilets.
  2. All park rules are applicable to you as a park user.
  3. Electricity and water are not available in the shelters.
  4. Shelter grills are charcoal. If you bring your own portable grill, it must be a propane grill only.
  5. We suggest you bring your own trash bags in case of excess trash.
  6. Your reservation does not include use of a ballfield, volleyball court, tennis court or horseshoe pit.
  7. There is no reserved parking for private rentals.

 

ACCESS

  1. Please note that the park will be open (starting at 5 a.m.) prior to your rental time of 10 a.m. Shelters are cleaned and ready for your reservation. Please note that shelters may be utilized by drop-in users prior to your reservation. Renters should arrive far enough in advance of their guests to complete additional cleanup if necessary.
  2. Be sure to have reservation paperwork with you. You may be asked by City personnel to show it.
  3. If you experience any non-emergency problems at the shelter when you have it reserved, please call the police non- emergency number, 303.987.7300.

 

PARK & SHELTER USE

  1. Stay on designated roadways. Driving beyond curb lines and designated parking area or onto sidewalks to load or unload any kind of equipment or supplies is not allowed.
  2. Do not place anything that blocks sidewalks or paths.
  3. Do not place buildings, structures, tents, canopies, charcoal grills or other equipment on the grass.
  4. Do not remove tables from other areas.
  5. Play music at a reasonable noise level; music cannot be disruptive to residents or other park users.
  6. Please be aware of your/your guests' behavior and treatment of the park. Report any noted damages immediately: CRinfo@ Lakewood.org.
  7. Make sure your clean-up is completed by the end of your reservation time at 9 p.m.

 

DAMAGE CHARGES

A damage fee may be assessed if damage occurs concurrent with the cost of repairs, or if excessive trash is left at the shelter due to your rental. Take a picture of the shelter when you arrive and when you leave for documentation purposes. Images can be emailed to CRInfo@Lakewood.org.

 

DEPARTURE CHECKLIST

  1. Take down and remove any chairs, lights, decorations, etc. that you’ve put up.
  2. Trash, including decorations, unwanted food, etc., must be bagged, secured and placed next to the trash receptacles.
